The beauty of nature
“Nature” refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. It ranges in scale from the subatomic to the cosmic. The term “nature” may refer to living plants and animals, geological processes, weather, and physics, such as matter and energy. The term often refers to the “natural environment” or wilderness — wild animals, rocks, forest, beaches, and in general areas that have not been substantially altered by humans, or which persist despite human intervention. 1
As I sit behind my keyboard struggling to write a befitting explanation of the beauty of nature, words fail me. The enchanting view of nature can have a profound effect on our senses, Heightened emotions as well.
Just looking at the sunset or sunrise alone provokes an intense emotion from us that we sometimes find ourselves holding back tears.
The beauty of nature leaves us dumbfounded. The streaks of orange line in the clouds with the sun shining its brightest has that effect on us. The trees that dance when cool breeze soothes its skin makes one elated.
Looking at the sea, still as a mouse, without its usual melodious ambient noise leaves you basking in the beauty of nature. Just looking at lines sunset makes between two trees is therapeutic enough. It soothes the nerves and reduces the noise in our head.
To really experience the beauty of nature is like taking a dose of the elixir of happiness. Nature reveals its truest self to the eye that wants to to see.
“In all things of nature” Aristotle said, “there is something of the marvelous.”
Even if the tree bark is bent awkwardly or the leaves have holes in them they would still look marvelous.
We cannot talk about nature without talking about how important they are. The transcendence of nature cannot be overemphasized. It provides food, water, medicine and so many more for us.
If we value the importance of nature we would live in harmony with it and it will blossom before our eyes.
When we overlook the importance of nature and abandon it we shall see it disappear before our very eyes, as it is doing now.
As a result of deforestation, we can no longer see those lush green plants. With it brings a lot of problems such as soil erosion, flooding and a lot more.
If we do not advocate against poaching we would no longer be opportune to hear the cricket sound or the melodious sound of the common Nightingale or the phenomenal creatures walking on this planet. Allowing the destruction of all the beauty nature gives would bring catastrophe to man and his habitat.
All these beautiful sights we were blessed with, the forests, ocean, sun, animals, were given to us by God so we have a duty to protect it and nurture it.
Lastly, nature is a medium through which we can know God.
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. — Khalil Gibran
